How is Hib diagnosed?

Your doctor will be able to diagnoses Hib from your symptoms and an examination.

Diagnosis of Hib may include:

  • physical examination
  • blood test
  • test of the fluid around the spine (cerebrospinal fluid)
  • tests of other specimens where necessary.
