What are the symptoms of giardia?

The symptoms of giardia appear around to 10 days after infection but may not appear for several weeks. Symptoms of giardia may include:

  • Acute or chronic diarrhoea
  • Weight loss
  • Fatigue
  • Abdominal cramps
  • ‘Floaty’ stools that contain more fat than normal and can be difficult to flush.
