Australia's rate of immunisation is steadily increasing following the implementation of the Australian Government funded National Immunisation Program (NIP) which began in 1997. The NIP Schedule currently includes vaccines against a total of 16 diseases and provides vaccination funding for:

Please see below for a complete schedule and listing of vaccines covered by the NIP, or visit the Immunise Australia Program website.
Who is eligible to receive a free vaccine under the NIP?
- Holds a Medicare card or eligible to hold a Medicare card and all asylum seekers (if a person attends without their Medicare card, vaccines can still be administered).
- Holds Australian citizenship.
- Holds a permanent visa or has applied for a permanent visa.
